Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the founder and CEO of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the founder and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family when she was age 16. In Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it at the age of 21. The success of her conservative journalist was further consolidated when she graduated. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice portal that offered critical opinions on the politics. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna's popularity started in 2003, after she became an independent candidate for the California recall vote to replace Governor Davis. Alongside that, she led the Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient automobiles. Forbes named her the most powerful female in the media industry in 2009. Her ranking was in the 12th spot on Forbes' ranking. The Guardian also included her to the list of top 100 media in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was named president of the media company. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Though she shared a close friendship with both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. She was a leader throughout her childhood. At 16 years of age she emigrated to the United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college in which she became the third female to be elected president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. Her career as TV host and journalist was born after graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
