Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as House in Fox's Medical drama House. Raised in Wayne in conservative Jewish traditions, she moved into New York City at the age of 18 and began studying acting at the Tisch School of the Arts. Soon, she was a part of the club scene in New York and began making headlines. The press also was impressed by her. Then, she used her experience and fame and her own experience to create and present a program called Positive Me. Awake the Wild Side, a show that she hosted on MTV became her first task. After it was taken off air, she began appearing in television and film productions, initially in short roles and gradually established herself as an actor.
